Acument Global Names Gray President, CEO

Joseph Gray to lead former Textron unit.

Fastening company Acument Global Technologies named Joseph Gray President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Gray, who joined the organization in May 2005, had served as interim President and CEO since October 2006.

Gray previously served in Integrated Supply Chain leadership roles for Textron Fastening Systems (now Acument) and Textron Fluid and Power before being chosen to lead Acument on an interim basis last year.

“We are confident that Joe’s leadership abilities and deep understanding of operational issues make him the optimal choice to lead this business,” said Platinum Equity Senior Vice President Paul Bridwell. “Since taking on the interim leadership role in October 2006, Joe has achieved significant improvements in the operating and financial performance of the company, applying a higher degree of focus, rigor, and firm expectations for continuous improvement."

Prior to joining Textron in the fall of 2004, Gray held senior leadership positions for global businesses ranging from the GDX Automotive unit of GenCorp, to Peregrine Inc. and the Braking Systems business of AlliedSignal.

Acument provides fastening solutions, engineered fastening systems, fastening installation technology, and inventory management and application engineering services. Platinum Equity acquired the company, which employs 8,500, from Textron in August 2006.
