World trade is expected to grow 7% as a result of improved economic conditions in 2006, but concern over consumption and employment in the EU will continue, according a recent study by the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The study by WTO economics quantified the growth measurement by the volume of goods traded from its original prediction of 3.5% in the world economy this year.

Global economy growth should be up from 3.3% last year, however, there is some level of uncertainty due to private consumption being hit by unemployment and high energy prices, according to the WTO.
