ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Ecolab Inc., which offers cleaning, sanitation, pest elimination, and maintenance products and services for hotels, hospitals and other institutions, said Friday it acquired United Kingdom-based Shield Medicare Ltd., for an undisclosed amount.
Shield, which offers contamination control products for pharmaceutical, medical device and hospital clean rooms, has annual sales of about $19 million.
''With its established position in the fast-growing clean room market, Shield will significantly enhance our European offering in health care and provide further product breadth as we work to help customers better meet rapidly increasing standards in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing processes,'' President and Chief Executive Douglas M. Baker Jr. said in a statement.
