A comparative look at the volume of exports of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) shows how different the two Koreas are economically. Compared to its southern neighbor North Korea has close to no exports at all. This goes along with a GDP per capita (PPP) in North Korea of $1,700 and of $37,100 in South Korea in 2015. North Korea has approximately 25.3 million inhabitants while South Korea has 51.2 million citizens.
