Campbell Institute Recognizes Innovation In The Workplace

The Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council has announced the Grifols Therapeutics Inc. Clayton facility as the winner of the 2018 Innovation Challenge.

Itasca, IL – The Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council has announced the winner of the 2018 Innovation Challenge. The Grifols Therapeutics Inc. Clayton facility was selected for their partnership with a small local company, collaborating to use alternative disposal methods to reduce biohazardous waste and air emissions.

The Innovation Challenge recognizes organizations for their achievement in the planning and/or implementation of an innovative environmental and/or health initiative in a way that demonstrates creative thinking, strategic implementation and/or significant impact.

“Innovation is crucial to advancing the future of environmental, health and safety, but it is too often overlooked,” said John Dony, director of the Campbell Institute and director of environmental, health, safety and sustainability at the National Safety Council. “We are honored to highlight and share the best practices of organizations like Grifols to help improve the future of workplace safety.”

Grifols was presented with this recognition at the Campbell Institute Symposium on Feb. 20-21 in Charlotte, NC. The Symposium is a ground-breaking event where attendees created change for the Future of EHS.
