The Vision Inspection System visually scans containers for physical defects at speeds of up to 500 packages per minute. The system identifies and removes defective packaging that would negatively affect package integrity or brand image: misaligned or damaged closures and tipped, doublestacked or wrong-sized containers. The system is designed for integration within an end-of-line packaging operation, where it can inspect finished packages ready for distribution. The system activates a non-destructive reject system to divert any questionable package to a sidetrack conveyor where it can be manually inspected. The software at the system compares the visual image of each scanned package to an adjustable stored quality standard profile to verify package acceptability. The system allows operators to access the parameters of the stored profile via a touch screen and adjust the profile parameters to maximize productivity while still controlling acceptable package standards.
