Once again, Powered Industrial Trucks made the top 10 list of OSHA’s most cited workplace violations (coming in at No. 7). There are more than 1,000,000 forklifts operating in the United States and any injury or death caused by an accident is one too many. However, there are an estimated 110,000 forklift accidents every year with roughly 20,000 workers injured, according to OSHA. Of these accidents, about 70 percent of them could have been prevented with proper training.
This video shows some examples of operators handling forklifts in a careless manner, causing chaos, damages and injuries. Most, if not all, could have been avoided if the operator had followed proper safety procedures.
