NanaWall Systems, the pioneer of the opening glass wall industry, announces the expansion of its Richmond, California manufacturing facility, more than doubling its U.S. manufacturing footprint and further investing in the local Bay Area community.

“While many other companies are moving manufacturing overseas, NanaWall saw a chance to instead increase our American production capabilities through this expansion,” said NanaWall Systems CEO Ebrahim Nana. “We are moving some elements of production from Germany into the U.S., which means increased local job opportunities, as well as a more efficient manufacturing process, faster time to market and therefore faster delivery of products, while still maintaining the unparalleled quality of our glass wall systems.”

The Richmond facility was established in 2005, and in 2012 the plant produced its 5,000th job. Two years later in 2014, the NanaWall factory was moved into a new, 36 percent larger compound that included additional loading docks and increased production capacity. Now in 2019, the facility has increased from 40,000 square feet to 90,000 square feet. Due to a larger space, more efficient layout, and spacious workflow, NanaWall will increase capacity by 125 percent, reduce lead times on orders and create more potential employment opportunities.

This continued growth reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to boosting American production and local investment over outsourcing. Certain products that were once manufactured in Germany will now be produced in the U.S.

NanaWall is also firmly committed to preserving the environment through sustainable design. Keeping the neighborhood in mind, its well-insulated building minimizes overall factory noise, brings in natural lighting through skylights and reduces energy costs. NanaWall also uses 60 percent recycled material and 100 percent recyclable packaging.
