Feds Find Rodents, Insects At Va. Food Facility

Federal investigators have found widespread infestations of rodents and insects at a building used by two Virginia food companies.

WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) -- Federal investigators have found widespread infestations of rodents and insects at a building used by two Virginia food companies.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says its investigators also found unclean equipment and structural defects during a recent inspection of the building in Waynesboro.

Federal marshals seized food products from Gourmet Provisions and Royal Cup Inc. last week.

Gourmet Provisions manufactures and packages ice cream cones. Royal Coup stores coffee service items in the building.

The USDA says in a news release that no illnesses have been associated with the products.
