Judgment Entered Against Closed Nebraska Plant

A Gage County District Judge has ordered a default judgment against a now-closed Beatrice manufacturing plant. Judge Paul Korslund ruled that Store Kraft Manufacturing owes Buhr's Trucking Inc., of Adams, nearly $100,000 plus interest.

Beatrice, Nebraska — A Gage County District Judge has ordered a default judgment against a now-closed Beatrice manufacturing plant.

Beatrice radio station KWBE says Judge Paul Korslund ruled Thursday that Store Kraft Manufacturing owes Buhr's Trucking Inc., of Adams, nearly $100,000 plus interest.

The judge issued the ruling after Store Kraft failed to appear for the lawsuit filed by the trucking company. The lawsuit had sought nearly $142,000 the trucking company said it was owed for transportation services provided between May 1 and Sept. 30.

Store Kraft closed in early October after 94 years in business, putting more than 100 people out of work.

Lumber and building supplies wholesalers Cedar Creek has also filed a lawsuit against Store Kraft, seeking to recover more than $96,000 it says it's owed.
