ATLANTA (AP) — The Coca-Cola Co. said Thursday that its board elected Ana Botin as a director, effective immediately.
Botin, 52, is chief executive of Santander UK PLC, a British personal finance company and a unit of Spain's Santander Group.
She also has led corporate and investment strategies at JP Morgan, headed Santander's international corporate banking business in Latin America and served as the executive chairwoman of Spain's Banco Espanol de Credito SA, Coca-Cola said.
Coca-Cola shares rose 1 cent to $40.85 in morning trading.
