HOWARD, Wis. (AP) — New complaints about the odor coming from a Green Bay area plant that processes animal fats and food waste has some Brown County supervisors pushing harder to punish the owners if the matter isn't addressed soon.
Supervisor Patrick Evans says the county has provided plenty of time for Sanimax to fix the odor problems. The deadline for Sanimax was recently extended to July 24. Press-Gazette Media reports employees of Belson Corp., Green Bay Converting and Little Rapids Corp., filed complaints this month about the smell at the Howard plant. A local ordinance requires three complaints, verified by a health official, before a fine can be levied.
Sanimax officials have said they're working to address the problem by improving "scrubbing" of plant emissions and taking other measures
