Four people injured at a southern Kentucky charcoal plant explosion remained hospitalized as the cause of the explosion remained under investigation.

Clorox Co. spokesman Dan Staublin said Sunday that the plant had gone nearly two years without an accident that caused employees to lose time on the job.

The four were hurt when a flash fire erupted at the Kingsford Charcoal Plant just south of Burnside. Clorox is the parent company of Kingsford.

Pulaski County public safety director Tiger Robinson said the four workers suffered burns to their upper bodies.

The company has identified the four workers as Dana Mayrand, Jerry King, Gayson Roberts and Jamie Dancy, all between ages 35 and 45. All were at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
