3 injured when machine strikes wires on NJ farm

UPPER PITTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — State Police say a piece of farm equipment struck overhead wires, injuring three workers on a South Jersey farm.

Sgt. Julian Castellanos says two of the workers were seriously injured when an arm on the combine they were operating struck the high-tension wires and the machine caught fire. A third worker was less seriously injured.

The accident happened at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in Upper Pittsgrove Township, Salem County, about 30 miles south of Philadelphia.

The names of the injured and details on their conditions were not immediately available.

State police and fire officials are investigating.
