A New York-based company that makes fabrics and belts used in the production of paper and cardboard is moving to New Hampshire, and building a new plant.

Officials say the plant in Rochester is expected to provide about 500 jobs over the next few years. It would expand an existing plant run by a subsidiary of Albany International that makes parts for the aerospace industry.

Albany International said Friday it is relocating its corporate headquarters from Albany, N.Y., to New Hampshire.

The Rochester plant, which employs about 225 workers, has grown by 23 percent in the last two years. Employment is expected to increase by the end of the decade to about 700.

Albany International has manufacturing centers in 14 countries.
