Authorities say a private contractor working on a renovation project at the University of Iowa has died after being injured in an accident on campus.
The university told the Iowa City Press-Citizen that Tom Fosdick, of Cedar Rapids, died after being injured on Monday at the Boyd Law Building.
The university says Fosdick was working for Swanson Glass, a subcontractor renovating the exterior of the building. Company spokesman Kevin Swanson on Wednesday declined to elaborate about the accident.
A report by the university's public safety department only shows police were called to the building for a personal injury. Public Safety Director Chuck Green says a more complete report would not be available until Thursday at the earliest.
