PALATINE, Ill. (AP) — Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc. named Robert Jones as its interim president and CEO Monday, following the death of president and CEO Andrew Reddick last week.
Jones was the company's chief operating officer and has worked at Acura since April 2008. The company did not disclose any details about its search for a replacement for Reddick.
Acura said Friday that Reddick, 58, had died the previous day. Reddick had gone on medical leave Monday, with Jones taking charge of the company's day-to-day operations. Richard Markham was named to replace Reddick as non-executive chairman of the board.
Reddick had been Acura's president and CEO since August 2003.
