RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell says a manufacturing expansion in Charlotte County will create 150 new jobs and save 52 existing jobs.
McDonnell said Tuesday in a news release that Genesis Products Inc. has acquired the former Appomattox River Manufacturing Co. and plans to expand the operation.
Elkhart, Ind.-based Genesis Products makes doors, cabinet parts, moldings and wood panels for pre-fabricated home, recreational vehicle, kitchen cabinet and furniture manufacturing industries.
The project will receive $300,000 from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission and $250,000 from the Governor's Opportunity Fund.
