Lockheed Pays $2M To Settle Contracts Lawsuit

U.S. Justice Department says Lockheed Martin Inc. will pay $2 million to settle a lawsuit that accused several companies and government employees of rigging a contract.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- The U.S. Justice Department says Lockheed Martin Inc. has agreed to pay $2 million to settle a lawsuit that accused several companies and government employees of rigging a contract at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.

The 2009 lawsuit, filed in federal court in Mississippi, accused former government employees Stephen Adamec and Robert Knesel of sharing private information that helped Lockheed and two partner companies win a $115 million contract.

Lockheed got $2 million for its portion of the contract.

The Justice Department said Monday in a statement that government employee David Magee will receive $560,000 for his role in bringing the case to the attention of authorities.
