ANKENY, Iowa (AP) -- Expansion has started on a manufacturing plant in Ankeny that is expected to add 43 employees.
Accu-mold broke ground Friday on the $5 million, 40,000-square-foot expansion. The Des Moines Register reports that Ankeny city officials approved a decade's worth of tax abatements and rebates to aid the company in the expansion effort, which will grow the facility to twice its size.
The high-tech plastic parts manufacturer currently employs 141 people. Ankeny economic development officials say Accu-mold is the first company to take advantage of the city's newly adopted Local Business Investment Policy.
