LINCOLN, Ala. (AP) -- Honda's Alabama plant has begun mass production of the new model of the Odyssey minivan.
Mass production started Monday at the plant in Lincoln, and the plant held a celebration Tuesday.
The senior vice president of Honda's Alabama operations, Chuck Ernst, said more than three years of planning and training is now a reality.
The new model of the Odyssey should arrive in dealer showrooms late this month. Officials said it offers improved fuel economy, a sleeker shape, a simplified instrument panel, and more shoulder and hip room for passengers in the third seat.
