LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Herbalife Ltd., a nutritional and weight-loss supplements maker, said Friday it will buy a facility in California for an undisclosed amount, in a move to strengthen manufacturing capabilities.
The company said it is buying assets from Micelle Laboratories, an Orange County, California contract manufacturer of food and nutritional supplements in the powder, liquid, tablet and capsule delivery forms.
All 72 full-time and 20 part-time staff will be offered the opportunity to become part of Herbalife after the deal closes, which is anticipated in the next 60 days.
Shares of Herbalife fell 26 cents to $33.02 in morning trading.
