BRIDGEWATER, N.S. (CP) -- The Abitibi-Bowater Mersey Paper Mill near Liverpool, N.S., will be shut down for another six weeks this year affecting close to 300 workers.
Union officials were notified today of the fourth work stoppage at the plant since last Christmas.
Courtney Wentzell with the Communications Energy and Paper Workers says the plant has been down more weeks than it's been running this year.
The mill will be closed from Aug. 29 to Oct. 4.
Company officials have been citing tough market conditions brought on by the current economic downturn.
