DETROIT (AP) -- U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke will speak at a national conference in Detroit on the future of manufacturing, technology, energy and the environment.
Organizers of The National Summit announced Thursday that Locke is among more than 60 leaders from the public and private sectors who will speak or participate in discussions at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.
The June 15-17 summit is co-chaired by Ford Motor Co. Executive Chairman Bill Ford and Dow Chemical Co. Chief Executive Andrew Liveris. Organizers say it's the nation's first such gathering and seek to create a plan to overcome industrial and economic upheavals.
