Mobile Home Window Manufacturer To Expand In S.C.

Texas-based Kinro is bringing a mobile home and recreational vehicle window manufacturing plant to South Carolina that will add 125 jobs.

CHESTER, S.C. (AP) -- A company that makes windows for mobile homes and recreation vehicles is bringing a plant to South Carolina.

Officials told The Herald of Rock Hill that Kinro's new plant in Chester County should bring 125 jobs to the county which has the third-worst unemployment rate in the state at 21.3 percent.

Kinro will take over the former Philips Products plant. The two companies are competitors, and county officials say they immediately began wooing Kinro when Philips Products closed down a year ago.

Kinro is based in Arlington, Texas, and is a subsidiary of Drew Industries.
