DENVER (AP) -- State health officials say a Minnesota food company that voluntarily recalled dips and spreads nationwide two weeks ago has expanded the order to include products sold in Colorado.
The state health department said Wednesday that the products from the Coon Rapids-based Parkers Farm were sold at Safeway and Whole Foods stores. The company recalled the products because they may have been contaminated with the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria, which can cause serious infections in children and others with weakened immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported.
The recalled products sold with the Parkers Farm label in Colorado included dips and spreads with sell-by dates of Sept. 30, 2010. Cheeses sold in round or square plastic tubs with snap-on lids with sell-by dates of Dec. 31, 2010 were also recalled.
