Oshkosh Awarded $250M Army Contract

Defense-related division of Oshkosh Corp. has received a $250 million contract to provide 825 new military vehicles to the U.S. Army.

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- The defense-related division of Oshkosh Corp. has received a $250 million contract to provide 825 new military vehicles to the U.S. Army.

Oshkosh Defense said Tuesday the contract calls for a specific class of heavy tactical vehicles. The trucks are used for transport and logistics, not combat operations.

Last month, the Oshkosh-based company announced a separate $51 million Army contract to provide 660 armor kits. The kits allow soldiers to upgrade armor protection on trucks already in the field.

Shares of Oshkosh Corp. were down 7 cents, or 0.89 percent, to $7.82 in midday trading Tuesday.
