CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- The Timken Co., which makes engineered bearings and alloy and specialty steel products, said Friday it opened new plants in India and China.
The two plants include an industrial bearing manufacturing plant in Chennai, India, and an aerospace and precision products facility in Chengdu, China.
Timken started building the plants in 2006. The company now operates seven plants in Asia.
Shares rose 57 cents to $32.69 during midday trading.
