Brunswick Corp. says it's closing a factory in Ohio and selling parts of its Baja boat line to Fountain Powerboat Industries of Washington, N.C.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Boat maker Brunswick Corp. says it's closing a factory in Bucyrus (byoo-SEYE'-rus), Ohio.

The plant has 285 employees and will stop production by late May.

The Lake Forest, Ill.-based company says it's selling parts of its Baja boat line to Fountain Powerboat Industries Inc. of Washington, N.C.

Terms weren't disclosed.

The Ohio plant will be the seventh boat factory Brunswick has closed or planned to close since 2007 as it realigns its business and cuts boat production.

The company expects to take a $10 million to $15 million pretax charge stemming from the closure.
