Omnova Solutions Cuts Production At Ohio Plant

Seeking to lower costs, chemical products manufacturer will reduce output at its Mogadore, Ohio plant, but the move will not cost any jobs.

FAIRLAWN, Ohio (AP) — Omnova Solutions Inc., which makes polymers and other chemical products, said Friday it is reducing output at its Mogadore, Ohio, plant to curb production costs.

The move will not cost any jobs, Omnova said, because the plant's work force has fallen by 20 percent through attrition.

''The reduction in capacity at our largest latex facility reflects Omnova's commitment to aggressively manage capacity in order to improve margins,'' the company said.
