RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Governor Mike Easley says an Illinois company that makes industrial and commercial tubing will add 42 jobs to its plant in Stanly County.
Easley said Wednesday that Chicago Tube & Iron Co. already employs 76 people who make boiler elements for the electric utility industry at a plant in Oakboro. The company also will expand into a new 128,000-square-foot facility that will be built in nearby Locust.
The company will create the new jobs and invest almost $11 million over the next three years.
The expansion was made possible in part by an $84,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
