Coca-Cola Bottling Names James Harris CFO

Harris succeeds Steven D. Westphal, who will become executive vice president of operations and systems.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated said Thursday it named director James E. Harris as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 25, to succeed Steven D. Westphal, who will become executive vice president of operations and systems.

Harris has served on the bottler’s board since 2003 and also is chief financial officer of Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath Corp., which owns and manages medical facilities specializing in cardiology and cardiovascular services.

Separately, MedCath said Harris will remain with the company through the end of January 2008, and Treasurer J. Arthur Parker will then take over as interim chief financial officer until a permanent CFO is appointed. Parker has been with MedCath since 2001.
