EADS Selects Bidders For Six Airbus Plants

Airbus parent said it will sell all or part of six manufacturing sites in a major restructuring and has chosen three European companies as preferred bidders.

PARIS (AP) — Airbus parent EADS said Wednesday it will sell all or part of six manufacturing sites in a major restructuring and has chosen three European companies as preferred bidders.
 
The plants are in Germany, France and Britain, and the preferred bidders were identified as France's Latecoere, Germany's MT Aerospace and Britain's GKN.
 
In a statement, the company said EADS and Airbus were in talks on selling all of Britain's Filton plant and on creating joint ventures for two French plants and three German plants.
