Four-phase expansion plan will grow the facility from 30,000 to 50,000 square meters by February 2009.

PRINCETON, N.J. — Tyco Flow Control, a unit of Tyco International, announced Monday a four-phase plan to expand its Vanessa valve plant in Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Italy.

When completed, the expansion will grow the facility from 30,000 to 50,000 square meters.

Vanessa valves are used in the oil and gas, power generation, chemical and petrochemical industries.

Phase one of the expansion included an additional test facility and assembly area for larger valves that was completed in September 2007. Phase two, due for completion at the end of January 2008, will add 1800 square meters of warehouse space and 410 square meters of office space. Phase three will expand the manufacturing area by 900 square meters. A deadline of late May 2008 is set for completion.

The final stage will add 2,000 square meters by February 2009.

The current workforce at the plant is 190, but is expected to increase to 220.
