GDX Automotive Closing Batesville Plant

Plant makes sealing systems for cars and employs more than 300 people; company also plans to close additional plants in Wabash, Indiana, and Magog, Quebec.

BATESVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The GDX Automotive plant in Batesville that makes sealing systems for cars and employs more than 300 people is closing.
 
Based in Farming Hill, Michigan, GDX was recently purchased by MAPS Holdings Incorporated, an affiliate of the Chicago-based Wynnchurch Capital private equity firm.
 
The Batesville plant and plants in Wabash, Indiana, and Magog, Quebec, were not included in the deal. According to news media reports, all three plants plan to close.
 
GDX products include weather-strip seals, glass encapsulation, modular sealing systems and anti-vibration components.
