MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) -- A machine fabrication shop in Moss Point has been purchased by a company that plans to expand the facility and possibly create hundreds of jobs.
Day & Zimmerman, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, said Tuesday that it had purchased Industrial Maintenance and Machine Incorporated. Terms were not disclosed. The Mississippi operation would be run as part of DZ Atlantic, a division that focuses on maintaining power plants.
Day & Zimmerman said that it hoped to expand the 35-employee business to as many as 300 over the next two years.
Industrial Maintenance and Machine, which had been controlled by the Caver family, includes a 180,000-square-foot facility on 20 acres of land.
John Green with DZ Atlantic said the company's "mission" this year was to acquire the site.
