Medical Device Maker Expanding Indiana Plant

Cook Urological planning two-year, multimillion dollar expansion project that will double the size of its Spencer manufacturing plant.

SPENCER, Ind. (AP) — Cook Urological is drawing up plans for a two-year, multimillion dollar expansion project that will double the size of its manufacturing plant in Spencer.

The company announced that it will add about 50,000 square feet with a project that should start in the middle of next year. Cook spokesman David McCarty says the company hasn't figured out the exact cost of the project.

He also says it isn't yet known how many jobs the expansion will add to Cook's work force of about 500 people in Spencer.

The unit of Bloomington-based medical-device manufacturer Cook Group makes mostly stents and catheters in Spencer, which is about 15 miles northwest of Bloomington.
