Ladish Expands Polish Operations

Metal parts maker invests $5 million to expand manufacturing and speed delivery times for European customers.

CUDAHY, Wis. (AP) - Metal parts maker Ladish Co. said Monday it would invest $5 million over several years to expand its manufacturing operations in Poland in an effort to deliver products more quickly to European customers.

The funds will be used to install equipment, train employees and establish testing facilities in Stalowa Wola.

''By strengthening our EU-based capabilities in the area of post-forging manufacturing operations, we will enhance our value within aerospace and industrial supply chains,'' said Ray Knutilla, Ladish's managing director of European operations.

The new operation will help ''provide a one-stop source with shorter manufacturing lead times demanded by our customers,'' he said.

Ladish shares rose 99 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $49.06 in afternoon trading.
