WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. Navy on Tuesday awarded a $10.6 million contract modification to General Dynamics Corp. for manufacturing and engineering services on the expeditionary fighting vehicle engine.
General Dynamics' Land Systems will perform the work in Woodbridge, Va., and Friedrichshafen, Germany, through September 2008.
The expeditionary fighting vehicle is the Marine Corps' latest amphibious armored vehicle, which is expected to be deployed in 2010.
Shares of General Dynamics rose 98 cents to $80.73.
