Ohio Among The Big Spenders In 2007 Industrial Projects

According to Industrial Info Resources, the state has 220 projects planned that are worth more than $6 billion.

Ohio is poised to be one of the top-ranked states for industrial project spending this year, according to recent research by Industrial Info Resources.

For 2007, the state has 220 projects planned, worth more than $6 billion, the research showed.

By sector, Industrial Info expects $1.4 billion in industrial manufacturing, $1.3 billion in the power industry and $1.2 billion in metals & minerals. Alternative fuels, petroleum refining and pharmaceutical & biotech will also see significant spending with $977 million, $643 million and $605 million, respectively.

Ohio also ranks highest in the Great Lakes region in industrial plant population with 1,650 operational plants, according to Industrial Info.
