Huntsville, Ala. (AP) – Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, a unit of industrial conglomerate United Technologies Corp., said Tuesday it will expand its Huntsville, Ala., facility as part of a program to build engines for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne will design, manufacture, assemble and test the engines needed to return the U.S. space program to the moon.
The project is expected to expand the Huntsville facility 85-person work force by 200 people by August 2007.
The company also said that a new program office is being created to manage the development of its J-2X liquid rocket engine.
