The U.S. Military produced a video of a fake press conference warning service members that Pentagon policy forbids CBD use.
The video is from 2019 when the Pentagon clarified its rules around CBD but was just recently surfaced by Marijuana Moment.
In the clip, a spokesperson says CBD may not be used since it is unregulated and could still contain some THC.
Fictional reporters then question if products like CBD lotion, CBD shampoo for cats and a “ganja guac burrito with CBD aioli at Nacho Camachos” are OK to consume.
All the questions are met with the same response: “Service members cannot use any type of CBD.”
The video was released after the introduction of the 2018 Farm Bill, which federally legalized hemp and its related cannabinoids like CBD.
Despite the bill, as of 2022 every military service branch has a regulation banning the use of CBD products, according to Military.com.
