Dematic (Grand Rapids, MI) has launched its RapidPick System, which uses a “goods to person” design that delivers split case items to an operator in a configuration that allows pick rates up to 1,000 line items per hours. According to the company, it offers high pick accuracy because only one SKU is presented to the operator at a time, in the desired sequence. Other features include:
- A construction of modular mechanize components: replenishment stations, pick stations, racking, and the inventory staging buffer module.
- Software that manages the SKU inventory, replenishment, and directs the order fulfillment process.
- A compact size, which typically uses a 30 to 65 percent smaller footprint, according to the company.
