Handheld Radiation Survey Meter

Fluke Electronics (Everett, WA) recently introduced the 481 Radiation Survey Meter for industrial radiation safety. The hand-held radiation device detects skin dose (beta), deep dose (gamma) and x-ray radioactivity. The Fluke 481 can measure radiation on goods, equipment, surfaces or environments—indoors and outdoors.

The hand-held radiation device detects skin dose (beta), deep dose (gamma) and x-ray radioactivity. The Fluke 481 can measure radiation on goods, equipment, surfaces or environments—indoors and outdoors. The meter can provide 200 hours of continuous operation on two 9-Volt batteries and provides an automated backlight. Its ion chamber provides accuracy of +/-10 percent.
