Toshiba, Fujitsu May Merge Mobile Phone Units

The integration, if realized, would create second-largest mobile phone maker in Japan, with combined market share of about 20 percent, after industry leader Sharp Corp.

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Toshiba Corp. and Fujitsu Ltd. are in talks toward integrating their mobile phone businesses, sources close to the matter said Friday.

The integration, if realized, would create the second-largest mobile phone maker in Japan, with a combined market share of about 20 percent, after industry leader Sharp Corp.
