Teledyne Buys Optimum Optical

Engineering and electronic products maker said it bought Optimum Optical Systems Inc., which makes products used in tactical military imaging systems, for an undisclosed sum.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) -- Teledyne Technologies Inc., an engineering and electronic products maker, said Monday it has bought Optimum Optical Systems Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

Optimum Optical, based in Camarillo, Calif., makes products used mainly in tactical military imaging systems.

Teledyne said it bought the company through its subsidiary, Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC.

Teledyne Technologies makes electronic systems, communications products aerospace engines and power generation systems.

Shares of Teledyne fell 62 cents to $38.15 in midday trading.
