CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) — Sensata Technologies Power Controls is moving manufacturing out of Cambridge to the company's location in Matamoros, Mexico.
A news release from the company says the cost-cutting move means the loss of about 50 manufacturing jobs in Cambridge. Plans call for engineering, marketing and business-related operations to remain at the Cambridge location.
Dorchester County economic development officials say Sensata will continue to employ more than 100 workers in Cambridge.
Sensata, formerly Air-pax, says it will assist those losing their jobs with separation benefits and career transition assistance.
