Bosch Acquires FHP Heat Pumps

Bosch expects the U.S. heat pump market to grow substantially in the coming years.

Bosch said Wednesday that it has acquired Florida-based FHP Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of electric geothermal heat pumps.

FHP will be integrated into Bosch’s Thermotechnology division, BBT Thermotechnik GmbH.

The purchase price was not disclosed.

FHP had 2005-2006 sales of $51 million and produces electric water-source heat pumps for the heating and air-conditioning of residential and commercial buildings. Its products have an output of up to 220 kilowatts.

Bosch expects double-digit growth potential for water-source heat pumps in the U.S. over the next few years.
