China Scares, Alienates Foreign Companies

Companies doing business in China are experiencing a growing uneasiness, including feeling as though they are unwelcome among local brands. A recent survey found that 38 percent of companies are concerned about their Chinese-based business, a 12-point increase since December of last year, a mere three months ago.

Companies doing business in China are experiencing a growing uneasiness, including feeling as though they are unwelcome among local brands. A recent survey found that 38 percent of companies are concerned about their Chinese-based business, a 12-point increase since December of last year, a mere three months ago.

One reason? Google’s recent spat with the Chinese government has shown the Communist party will stick to its guns, especially when Google's confidence has given other companies the courage to also speak out on policies they deem unfair, such as GoDaddy.
