Rajan Suri, a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor of industrial and systems engineering, has developed an intriguing strategy that could keep manufacturers strong in the struggling economy: quick response manufacturing. According to Suri, QRM can allow manufacturers to reduce lead times, cut inventory, and increase profitability.
He sets forth this strategy in his new book, “It’s About Time: The Competitive Advantage of Quick Response Manufacturing.”
